A MESSAGE FROM OUR VICAR.

St Thomas's is the greatest phsical asset we have in our community

That sounds like quite a claim to make. I know! But St Thomas' is a wonderful church at the heart of a wonderful community. It's  a church full of great people, loved and appreciated by so many more, and as you will know so much takes place and is offered here. TO IMAGINE NEWHEY WITHOUT ST THOMAS'S SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE.

However now is the time to start addressing the challenges facing us,, because if we don't, then it is clear that there could come a time when St Thomas' can no longer continue.

There are two issues we must address. Firstly we need more people to commit their time to help with the many aspects of church life, practical and spiritual. As a church we are becoming increasingly reliant on a smaller number of people to help keep things running, which can't continue.

The second is finance, currently there is a gap between what is comming in and what goes out. With our projections this is clearly not sustainable for much longer.

You'll find a form in church which details ways in which you can get involved. I am sure there is a role for you at St Thomas'.

This form is part of a stewardship package which sets out to address finnance, fundraising and what we need to do to balance our books, and what you can do to help in these two issues.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article and I pray that as you read through and reflect on the part you play, or might play, the future of our church will be secure.

With my Thanks, love and prayers,

JANET
