SUCCESSFUL SPONSORED WALK SATURDAY 25th MayAnother lovely day for the sponsored walk; dry and sunny with a breeze, Geoff certainly knows how to pick the day, as well as the routes. The walk lead by Geoff (pictures on photo page) was about an hour and forty five minutes, walking from the car park on Ogden Lane, down to Greenhalghs around the back up Rough Bank, following the path passed Odgen and Kitcliffe reservoirs, then around Piethorne and back passed Kitcliffe and finishing by dropping down through the farm onto Ogden Lane. A couple of kean walkers carried on and did the full circle around Ogden Reservior. Brenda lead another Group round a shorter route (just over 3 miles) There were loads of birds and bluebells around , as well as the sheep. Judith and Sally came armed with litter pickers and bin bags and took the opportunity to use them. It was great to be out ,in the fresh air, sunshine and beautiful countryside. Many thanks to Geoff and Brenda for organising it, and to everyone participating (both walkers and sponsors). IMAGES OF THIS EVENT ARE TO BE SEEN ON "THE PHOTO'S PAGE". (2019) 23rd March.

SOCIAL EVENTS FOR 2018
This was our second year of hosting a Christmas Tree Festival in church. Building on last year’s event, all would agree that it was an outstanding success. Approximately thirty trees were decorated and exhibited by various local shops, charities, organisations, church groups, families etc. Each tree providing a little bit of information about themselves. The church was also decorated with a Christmas Theme with each window having a display of festive flowers. Stalls offering fancy gifts & Christmas goods, homemade cakes, chocolates, crafts, tombola, a bottle stall offering a prize for every ticket purchased and a large raffle offering super prizes. With tickets from as low as 10p to others at £1 there was something for all ages. The School Choir provided entertainment and a cafe offered waitress service of sandwiches, sausage baps, cake & mince pies, this was an event not to be missed. Added to all that, more money than last year was raised to help us carry on Gods work in Newhey.
