Christingle and Carols

Sunday 19th December 2021 (3pm)

Please join us as we begin our celebrations with music and giving! Accompanied by members of Milnrow Brass Band we will be singing Christmas Carols and raising funds for The Children’s Society with each Christingle and donation.

Christingle celebrations are named after the Christingles that are lit during the ceremony. Christingles are oranges wrapped in red tape, decorated with dried fruit or sweets, with a candle on the top. Christingle is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope During the service.

Each person takes a Christingle and the candles are all lit to create and warm, magical glow symbolizing the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness.

 Christmas Tree Festival 2021

(See "Events Page" for a report of this event.)

This year’s Christmas Tree Festival will take place as follows:

Saturday 11th December, 11am – 2pm

We will need plenty of volunteers on the day to help on the various stalls; ticket sales, café, chocolate tombola, gifts (new / unused), bottles, cake stalls etc.

This is OUR opportunity to welcome our neighbours, friends and family and the whole community to our beautiful building and see what a warm welcome they receive at St Thomas! So please get involved however you are able, to make this the best one yet!!!

Boxes will be placed at the back of church soon and we would really appreciate your donations of the usual mince pies, bottles, chocolates and gifts etc.

We will also need lots of people to get involved in spreading the word and getting local businesses, organisations and families signed up to decorate a tree:

Donation for each tree entered is:

£5 Families/Not for Profit/Charitable Orgs

£20 Businesses

If you can help in any way, please contact Judith Jones or Caroline Power
