CHRISTINGLE SERVICE 8th Dec 2019

8th Dec. 2019

The Christingle service on Sunday as always was in aid of the Church Of England Children's Society.

The Church was packed with families and friends .

Milnrow Brass Band opened the service playing carols to which we  sang our hearts out.

Janet (our vicar) told us how to form the shape of the Christingle with our fingers so that we would always carry with us the message that the christingle portrays.

Afterwards we exchanged our Children Society gift boxes for a Christingle.

We then formed a big circle and the candles were lit, lights switched off, and we sang the carol Away in a manger, it was magical.

Mince pies and mulled wine was enjoyed later many thanks to Janet officiating at her first christingle

HARVEST FESTIVAL 2018

ON THE WEEKEND OF 5th-7th of OCTOBER  we celebrated our HARVEST FESTIVAL

OUR SCHOOL CHILDREN, and others from LOCAL NURSERIES attended CHURCH on Friday, bringing food gifts, in a SPECIAL YOUNG PERSONS SERVICE.

Early on Sunday morning prior to our morning service a HARVEST BREAKFAST was provided, with hot sausage and bacon sandwiches. As you can imagine this went down very well .

During the subsequent HARVEST FESTIVAL service (led by Reverend Hilda Wild ) the congregation presented their gifts.

Instead of the usual Sermon the older SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN  performed a play on GENEROSITY.

After which  the young ones acted out the story of the LITTLE RED HEN which we all enjoyed .

Soup and a bread roll after the service provided the perfect end to a lovely HARVEST SERVICE with friends and family

ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE BOOTH CENTRE MANCHESTER AND TO OUR LOCAL ROCHDALE FOOD BANK
